Ants problem solved using less harmful Boric Acid powder.

Recently we had lot of ants in kitchen. They were look like sugar ants. They were every where. We tried many solution we found on internet.

    We tried following solutions:

    1. Pepper powder, Blocking ants pathways, Keeping surface squeaky clean, Cinamon, ..  All of these are good solution. No harm to human but may take several days to control it. And it might work if there are very fewer ants. .
    2. We bought ant trap from local store. We tried few brands none of them worked. It may work sometime. But I do not recommend it. The chemical in these ant trap will end up in our food. Ants carry them to give it to queen might end up contaminating our food.  Do not use it.

Spent few months trying to control it natural way as possible and got tired of it.  Finally decided to call the professional pest control guy. He promised that he will take care of it.

    3. Pest control guy sprayed some harsh chemical all around the house outside and inside he sprayed some chemical on baseboard.  This got rid of all fireants around the house and also did not see any ants on floor. But ants keep coming back. He came four times with several different type of ant baits and none of them worked and finally he (pest professional) gave up and said we can't solve our ant problem. I could not believe it. I will never recommend this guy.

Finally I decided to try it myself and wanted to use some thing less poisonous to human. So bought Boric Acid powder.  Added few tablespoon of sugar and one table spoon of Boric Acid into water. Then dipped cotton balls in that solutions and placed at ant trails.  Tons of ant came and attacked cotton balls and ate and died and looks they took it to queen. I have not seen ants since then.

Looks like Boric Acid is a good solution. I like this solution better because it is less toxic compared. It is not harmful to human if in case ant contaminate food.  Professionals use chemicals which are very harmful to human and ants may contaminate our food and we will end up eating it.  So avoid calling professionals try best possible natural way and save money and save earth from using bad chemicals which end up contaminating water.

    Buy write.

Buy write did not work in this market.
It will work in normal condition.

Today day traded SPY bought at 87.73 and stopped out at 88.70. I put this since I have
to step out for a while. Then it ran up to 91.75. Too bad missed another huge gain.

    Wednesday, September 03, 2008

    Buy write and dividend.

It looks very attractive to buy a stock and write option for companies like FRO which pays
hefty dividend in the range of $2-$5.

If FRO trades at 60 and call option for strike price of $35 would be around $25 and it looks
like there is very little chance that the FRO would fall to 35 and you can collect dividend of $3
which is almost 10% of your cost for a month. Sounds very good and there is only 0.01% chance
that FRO will hit 35. This sounds too good to be true.

So what is the catch here?

If the dividend is cash the option price will not be adjusted. The dividend goes to the stock
holder and option holder will not get any dividend but the chances are the stock price will
trade lower by the amount of dividend. So why would the option holder will hold the option
and let you enjoy the dividend. So this what happens. On the ex-dividend date the stock
will be assigned to the option holder.

There is no free money here. Do not play this game for a company like FRO. But it will work
for companies which pays around 5% dividend.

out because of report from citrion report. I found more than 140 people complained
about bidz.com. Looks like a not a good company to invest money. No more small caps.

    BIDZ

Interesting company. Sells jewelery by auction. Its main competitor is blue nile
and right now compared to NILE this stock is cheap. May be a good buy now.
But site design is not that great unless they improve the site ui it may
not attract new customers. They say you can buy jewelery for less and sell at
    ebay.

    CY another stock to watch.
