Ants problem solved using less harmful Boric Acid powder.

Recently we had lot of ants in kitchen. They were look like sugar ants. They were every where. We tried many solution we found on internet.

We tried following solutions:

1. Pepper powder, Blocking ants pathways, Keeping surface squeaky clean, Cinamon, ..  All of these are good solution. No harm to human but may take several days to control it. And it might work if there are very fewer ants. .
2. We bought ant trap from local store. We tried few brands none of them worked. It may work sometime. But I do not recommend it. The chemical in these ant trap will end up in our food. Ants carry them to give it to queen might end up contaminating our food.  Do not use it.

Spent few months trying to control it natural way as possible and got tired of it.  Finally decided to call the professional pest control guy. He promised that he will take care of it.

3. Pest control guy sprayed some harsh chemical all around the house outside and inside he sprayed some chemical on baseboard.  This got rid of all fireants around the house and also did not see any ants on floor. But ants keep coming back. He came four times with several different type of ant baits and none of them worked and finally he (pest professional) gave up and said we can't solve our ant problem. I could not believe it. I will never recommend this guy.

Finally I decided to try it myself and wanted to use some thing less poisonous to human. So bought Boric Acid powder.  Added few tablespoon of sugar and one table spoon of Boric Acid into water. Then dipped cotton balls in that solutions and placed at ant trails.  Tons of ant came and attacked cotton balls and ate and died and looks they took it to queen. I have not seen ants since then.

Looks like Boric Acid is a good solution. I like this solution better because it is less toxic compared. It is not harmful to human if in case ant contaminate food.  Professionals use chemicals which are very harmful to human and ants may contaminate our food and we will end up eating it.  So avoid calling professionals try best possible natural way and save money and save earth from using bad chemicals which end up contaminating water.
